After spending two hours (in heels mind you) chatting tea and Kombucha jargon, smelling tin after beautiful tin of fantastic loose leaf teas with David Edwards of the New Mexico Tea Company, I have settled on two for my first big batch experimentation. Crime of Passion: A Green Tea infused with papaya and passion fruit and Lady Londonderry: A Black Tea with hints of strawberry and lemon. It was difficult to make up my mind. I felt like a kid in a candy shop, except I don’t eat candy. I drink fruity, tangy Kombucha; that’s my candy and I was in an aromatic heaven with dozens of teas I wanted to take home and play with.
Since I’m a bit impatient I’m starting with a small home brew batch of Crime of Passion. I must see how this tastes! Sadly, I’ll have to wait days for the final product but it is always worth it.
